Associate Director Software Engineering

Boston Scientific

Jose Rivera Santiago is a licensed Professional Engineer with over 20 years of experience in industrial automation, MES, and software engineering. He began his career in technical roles at AG Group, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Hewlett Packard, and Bristol Myers Squibb, gaining hands-on experience in system design, configuration, and installation across a wide range of automation architectures. Over time, he transitioned into leadership positions at AG Group, Bristol Myers Squibb, and Boston Scientific, where he focused on driving the adoption, integration, and sustaining of automation, MES, and software solutions at scale.

Jose holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Computer Engineering. He currently serves as Associate Director of Software Engineering at Boston Scientific, where he leads teams responsible for Industrial Automation, MES, Software, and Business Intelligence. His diverse background across service and end-user roles enables him to deliver solutions that balance technical innovation, business value, and compliance.

Former Chief Innovation and Information Officer (CIIO) for the Government of Puerto Rico, with extensive experience leading software development initiatives, systems integration, hardware and software modernization, risk management, service delivery, and critical incident management.

Carlos works closely with clients to deliver practical and strategic solutions to navigate and solve complex challenges involving organizational transformations, merger integrations, and strategic planning. Carlos joined V2A in 2017 and is now part of the firm’s Director team. As the leader of the firm’s telecommunications practice, he has worked extensively within the industry, including highly complex merger integrations and challenging strategic projects. Carlos has also played a key role in developing the firm’s expertise in human capital management for law enforcement agencies.

Carlos’s experience prior to V2A as a marketing consultant helps him focus on what clients want and how end users will benefit from organizational transformations. His academic background has shaped him into a highly critical and analytical thinker who is not afraid to ask difficult questions and approaches challenges from every possible angle. He also has a bias toward action, ensuring that implemented plans deliver both short-term results and long-term impact.

Carlos enjoys staying connected to his creativity through writing and photography, as well as staying active through sports such as beach tennis, softball, and golf. He is also a co-founder of an amateur sports club and even spent time as an NCAA volleyball coach. However, most of his free time is dedicated to his wife and their three children.

Carlos leads the firm’s Growth Management practice, specializing in Process Automation, Human Capital and Innovation strategies across industries.
